Landscaping the Field

LANDSCAPING THE FIELD

LIFE’s landscape analysis will provide a clear picture of how K–12 schools and faith-based institutions are currently working together to support student outcomes and where untapped opportunities exist. By mapping these relationships, leaders can strengthen collaboration, avoid duplication, and build partnerships that more effectively support students and their communities.

What We’ll Do

LIFE will invest in building a sweeping analysis to map the field in order to a) better understand where partnerships exist between schools and faith institutions, b) what kinds of partnerships exist, and c) what impact is resulting from these partnerships.

This mapping of the sector will be complemented with an analysis that uncovers a) where spirituality is being integrated into the education system in inclusive methods, b) how spirituality is being integrated, and c) what impact is resulting from that integration.

This process will enable LIFE to spotlight what is working, increase the available data for the sector, and identify areas that require more investigation.

How We’ll Do It: Goals for Landscaping the Field

1

By the end of three years, the field will for the first time have access to a repository of the existing partnerships between faith institutions and education systems across the United States.

2

This map and directory will enable categorization and analysis across multiple dimensions including but not limited to geography, type of partnership, denomination, associated goals, etc.

3

The analysis will also identify trends, conditions that increase the likelihood of partnership, places where we see impact, and areas that would benefit from further research.

4

The objective is to create the conditions for someone to find available partnerships - both at the institutional and individual level - based on specific locations and criteria at any point in time.
