Dr. Judy Touzin
Judy Touzin began her career as a third-grade teacher in Harlem with the New York City Department of Education in 2003. She quickly fell in love with her students, their families, and the work. In 2009, she went on to serve as the founding principal of an elementary school in East New York, Brooklyn. She then served as the Managing Director of Principal Preparation for a Texas-based charter network where she helped to prepare over 75 aspiring principals.
In 2020, Judy enrolled in Harvard’s doctoral program in educational leadership in hopes of better understanding what it might take to ensure more young people - especially young Black boys - learn and thrive. Since graduating in 2023, Judy has worked as a strategic consultant with Dr. Irvin Scott, founder of Harvard University’s Leadership Initiative for Faith and Education (L.I.F.E.) and with the Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance (MBKA). Both L.I.F.E. and MBKA are national, cross -sector efforts focused on strengthening collaboration and impact across their respective communities.
Judy holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education from CUNY Graduate Center and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She lives in Queens, NY where she enjoys long walks in the city’s parks and spending quality time with family and friends.
